In financial services, open banking allows for financial data to be shared between banks and third-party service providers through the use of application programming interfaces (APIs). Traditionally, banks have kept customer financial data within their own closed systems.
Open banking allows customers to share their financial information securely and electronically with other individual authorized organizations, such as fintech companies, payment providers, lenders, and other banks so they can enhance their own services.
However to create a payments eco-system, a commonality, a framework, a solution is needed so all businesses and consumers can use one system to interact with each other to enhance services, to create a better New Zealand.
Open Payments was launched to provide Government, Banks, Fintech, Retailers, Systems, the platform to build commonality solutions using pre-built solutions which can be expanded using the powerful APIs.

The application is proven, in-use by some of the largest corporate companies in the world, now customized and deployed as the Open Payments Application for New Zealand businesses and consumers.
Our consumer application uses an EMI payments app, which meets and in some areas exceeds compliance requirements.
The app allows consumers to opt in, to any business solution that has been deployed using the Open Payments Application and allows consumers to pay any business that has registered for Pay by Bank payments.
